Foxy Throwback

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 whole years since Foxy Bingo first opened its doors—but they do say that time flies when you’re having fun!

We always aim to keep up with the times (and the fashions) by constantly evolving and improving our online entertainment. And here, we’ll look at how we’ve worked with a range of different celebs, cheered for some massive wins, and run some epic promotions since the fun started in 2005.

Not only is Foxy Bingo one of the biggest success stories in the online bingo industry, but as this article goes to prove, it’s also just as Foxy Fab as ever!

Foxy: The Early Years

It was around 2005, the same year that Foxy Bingo was launched, that a growing number of entrepreneurs spotted a gap in the market and began to create online bingo sites.

Just a few years later, and some of these sites were enjoying the same levels of success as online casinos.

We had just two bingo and chat rooms when we started out but were eager to offer much more. So, we started working on ways to improve our selection of games with the help of our tech boffins and some handpicked celebrities.

Remember our first-ever TV ad? It starred a rather different looking Foxy to the one we know and love today and saw a variety of members of the public sitting in silence so that they could “save the chat” for when they played at Foxy Bingo.

Katie Price

Katie Price was one of the first celebrities that we asked to be the face of Foxy Bingo, and in 2012, our players voted her Celebrity Mum of the Year!

She became our brand ambassador back in 2006 and helped us to gain a more youthful image. We also created a dedicated room called Katie’s Charity Bingo room, with the profits from 50% of all tickets sold going to the star’s chosen charities.

Katie (a.k.a. Jordan) appeared alongside Foxy in many of our ad campaigns and she even wore a purple party dress to complement Foxy’s signature suit!

Early Foxy Bingo Jackpots

When we first launched, bingo jackpots weren’t as common as they are now, but some of our instant wins (including Lucky Spell, Pirate Gold, and Fruit Machine Multiplier) gave players the chance to land a £25,000 jackpot.

We were also giving away a whopping amount of cash prizes. For example, on 26th December 2005, our lucky winners scooped a combined daily total of £46,385!

Mid-Noughties

By the mid-noughties, most major gambling companies in the UK had their own online bingo site.

The social side of bingo that players had previously been enjoying in land-based bingo halls had moved almost seamlessly to the online market thanks to the rise of chat rooms and chat games. Plus, with the benefit of promotions, competitions, and side games, more and more people were choosing to play online.

In 2009, we were having a ball with our members thanks to promotions like Super Prize Night (where you could win a Sony PSP 3000s for as little as 10p) and £500 Tombola.

Big Winners

We’ve had loads of big winners over the years. In the mid-noughties, dotwin took home £25,000 on a Friday Mega Jackpot game while julieking50 scored £10,00 in her first-ever Foxy Free Friday game.

Recently, we’ve even awarded £2 million to Mirouku17 who hit the jackpot on the Millionaire Genie slot at Foxy Bingo!

The Only Way is Foxy

In 2015, we enlisted the help of Joey Essex and some of his TOWIE co-stars as part of a brand redesign.

The loveable fella helped us to reveal Foxy’s new look using the hashtag ‘FoxyGoesToEssex’, and we jointly released a video and a series of TV adverts to get the word out that our site had been upgraded and now featured more than 60 best-in-class games, as well as an improved mobile experience.

Joey’s fellow TOWIE star, Lauren Goodger, and her boyfriend at the time also helped us advertise our exclusive and slightly saucy body paint, Fur Afters. The couple appeared in several adverts where Lauren’s fella, Jake McLean, told us “I get a bit nervous when Foxy and Lauren are together”.

Heather Graham

One of our favourite co-stars and brand ambassadors of all time has to be the gorgeous Heather Graham.

As one of Hollywood’s leading ladies, we only thought it was right to ask Heather to become the new face of Foxy Bingo back in 2017.

Viewers were shocked and amazed when she appeared in our TV ad campaign together, not just because she’s one of the most famous women on the planet, but also because she emerged from Foxy’s famous fox outfit in a bigger reveal than that of ‘The Stig’ from Top Gear!

Heather instantly fell in love with our brand and the concept for the ad campaign, gushing that “I love comedy and I love British wit. When they told me I would get to play Foxy, I loved the idea and thought it was hilarious”.

15 Years of Foxy

We hope you’ve had a ball looking back through the last 15 years and that it’s given you some fond memories of our main man, Foxy.

Now, it’s time to enjoy some more noughties, teenies, and new ‘20s entertainment with our belting range of online entertainment.

For example, the last episode of the hit American TV show, Friends, aired in May 2004, just one year before Foxy Bingo opened its doors. And you can now reunite with the gang in our fabulous Friends Bingo room!

We also have some top retro online slot and other games that will remind you of the good old days like Fluffy Favourites, Tetris Extreme Mega Drop, Slingo Classic, Monopoly Electric Wins, Downton Abbey, The Price is Right, and Inspector Gadget! Fancy giving them a whirl?
