Peaky Pigs

Join Tommy Hilpigger and his Peaky Pigs to stir up trouble on the mean streets of 19th Century Birmingham. Peaky Pigs is a great new slot by Snowborn Games that takes its inspiration from the TV show and, well, pigs.

Now, to be honest with you, me foxy friends, pigs aren't me favourite animal to hang out with. But with Sticky Wild, Increasing Wild Multipliers, Free Spins and some great animation and graphics, this is a fantastic game, enough so that I'll put me prejudices aside and give you the lowdown on it.    

Peaky Pigs has a 5-reel, 3-row game grid with 20 fixed paylines and some interesting symbols. The low pays are knuckle dusters, broken bottles, boxing gloves, razors, horseshoes, and mugs. Then come the Peaky Pigs gang themselves; Billy Bacon, Sam the Ham, Ricky Ribs, and Tommy Hilpigger. Bets can be placed in a range of 0.20 to 20.00.

The Wild, a big letter W, is a pretty important symbol in this game. It doesn't just stand in for other symbols to help form wins; it also multiplies the win by anything up to 5 x. This is in addition to giving its own prizes of 15 x, 33 x, and 111 x the bet for combos of 3, 4, or 5. And in the Free Spins, the Wild is key to boosting the win potential of the round, as I'll explain below.  

The Scatter is, for some reason, a pocket watch. This can only land on reels one, three and five, and will trigger the free spins when it hits on all three in one spin.  

When the Piggy premiums land, they will sometimes have a coin attached. This will fly off the reels into the piggy bank on the left and can trigger the Piggy Pots Bonus. 

The Piggy Pots Bonus awards five Free Spins, but before they start, each of the four pigs is matched with one of the Piggy Pots prizes, which are 15x, 40 x, 200 x, or 5,000 x the bet. During the Piggy Pot spins, all the Piggy premiums landing are collected, and at the end of the round, the player is awarded the prize attached to the pig who landed most often.  

Landing 3 of the pocket watch Scatter symbols across reels 1, 3, and 5 gives a prize of 3 x the bet and triggers three free spins. All Wilds that land during the Free Spins become Sticky, remaining in place for the rest of the Free Spins, and resetting the counter to 3. After every spin, a stick of dynamite is lobbed onto the reels, where it explodes above a Wild, increasing its multiplier by + 1 up to a maximum of 9 x. 

There’s a lot going on in Peaky Pigs, on the reels and in the background, especially during the Free Spins. This is another entertaining game from Snowborn, and the Piggys themselves are an interesting bunch of characters. But they’re also a volatile bunch, so remember to set a loss limit, and never gamble money you can’t afford to lose. Good Luck!
