It’s been more than twenty years since the giant Wheel of Fortune spun on our TV screens, but the iconic TV show still has a place in our hearts, doesn’t it, me furry friends?

But that’s just as much because of all the great slots it has inspired over the years. IGT hooked the license to produce slots themed around the game and have been making good use of it ever since.

And now they’ve teamed up with Big Time Gaming to produce Wheel of Fortune Megaways! Together, they’ve tweaked the Megaways mechanic so that it can produce up to 1,000,000 ways to win in this high volatility game.

The Wheel of Fortune TV show was all about extravagant prizes, and these are on the reels in the form of a car, a private jet, a speedboat, and a ring as the premium symbols. The ring with its big purple rock is the highest paying symbol, with prizes starting at 2 x the bet for two matching symbols, up to 25 x the bet for six. The other symbols need three of a kind to form a win.

Lower paying symbols are card ranks 9 to Ace, but all glitz up. Awards for landing three to six of a kind range from 0.1 x the bet for three 9s up to 0.7 x for six Aces. A golden Wild can appear on reels 2 to 5 to substitute for regular symbols in forming wins. The Wheel of Fortune logo is the Scatter.

The six-reel grid is set against a background of a neon-light game show set. Between 2 and 7 symbols can land on each reel during the base game, producing up to 117,649 possible ways to win. During the Free Spin, this number can increase dramatically, thanks to the extending reels feature. And trust Foxy, me little furry friends, this is a game-changer.

The game is played by first setting your bet level anywhere from 0.20 to 200.00 by clicking the arrow tabs under the stake display.

If there’s one problem with Megaways games, it’s that some producers are getting lazy. They’re relying on the ever-changing number of ways to win to entertain the players and stick the same bonus features in all their Megaways slots.

Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols anywhere in view will award the player 12, 14, 16, or 18 Free Spins. But first, the lucky player is taken to a new screen to spin the Wheel of Fortune. On this wheel, you’ll see some big numbers like  - 51,450, 84,035, and 16,800. These are the minimum number of guaranteed ways to win that’ll be active in the Free Spins.

Once the Free Spins get underway, sharp-eyed foxes will notice an extra symbol landing on the reels that looks like a gold Scatter. This is the expansion symbol, and every time it lands, it transforms into two symbols. The reels can be expanded to hold up to 10 symbols in this way. If all the reels are fully expanded, the grid will feature an amazing 1,000,000 possible ways to win!

Once a reel is fully expanded, the Free Spins are retriggered. Players spin the Wheel of Fortune again, but this time to decide how many more Free Spins they get their paws on, with from three to twelve up for grabs.
