And there’s no doubt about it, me Foxy friends, Lightening Strike Megaways is a feast for the eyes. Beautifully detailed symbols spin on reels set against a background of a fjord, with a Viking ship at anchor, and lightning flashing across the skies.

The symbols are runic-looking card ranks 9 to Ace for the lower paying ones. And the premium symbols are four fierce Viking characters, each with its own vivid background colour that makes them jump off the reels. There are two feature symbols in this game; Thor's Hammer which is the Wild, standing in for other symbols in winning combos, and the old Norse Tree of Life, the Yggdrasil. The incredible detail of this symbol is a clue to its importance.

The grid features six reels, and as I'm sure all me little foxy friends know already, as this is a Megaways slot, between 2 and 5 symbols can land on each reel. The number of symbols on the reels will fix the number of payline. And it's the more, the merrier as far as Foxy is concerned, 'cause six fully loaded reels mean an incredible 15,625 ways to win. Before we release the lightning bolts, let’s take a look at the controls. First, the arrows to the left of the grid are used to select the bet level from 0.20 to 0.50. To the right of the grid is the spin button, decorated with a Valknut symbol of three intersecting triangles.

Finally, there's the menu button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen where the paytable and other useful info can be found. And below that, players can see their bet level and total balance displayed.

Lightning Strike 

If the Thor's Hammer Wild lands on one of the middle four reels, it expands and sticks for one respin, and applies a randomly chosen multiplier to the win. If other Wild lands on the respin, both will stick, and another respin is granted. Up to four respins can be won. 

Cash and Mega Spins

Any win of 5 x the stake or over and the lucky fox who lands it gets a chance to play the Mega Spins ladder and increase the prize money or collect Mega Spins. This is a Wheel of Fortune feature. First, use the arrows to the left of the grid to set the bet amount. Then spin the wheel, if it lands on a green section, the player wins the prize amount selected. They can collect this or trade it for Mega Spins. Landing on the red section means the player loses the round and the win.

Mega Spins

During the Mega Spins, extra Wilds and mystery symbols land on the reels, boosting the win potential of the game. The number of Mega Spins depends on the value of the prize they traded in.
