Griffin's Throne

The Griffin, a creature from Greek mythology, is half eagle and half lion. Proud and fierce, his deafening scream struck terror into even the bravest of the Spartans. But players of the Griffon's Throne slot by veteran developer's IGT are going to want to hear it as often as possible, as in this game, the Griffin only exercises his lungs to announce possible big wins!

Like most IGT slots, Griffin's Throne is a feast for the eyes, with a beautifully detailed, relaxing blue background featuring Greek columns, clouds and mysterious blue flames. In the base game, a giant Griffin sits on top of the 5x4 grid. This actually makes the screen look a bit unbalanced, as the mythological bird dwarfs the game grid. But there is a very good reason for this, as we'll see in a minute. 

The regular symbols in the paytable are the card ranks A, K, Q, J, 10, and 9, suitably Greekified, as the low pays. The premiums are themed and are a Greek vase, shield, sword, helmet, and finally, the Griffin himself as the most valuable symbol.

The Wild just says wild in Greek-style letters. This can land on reels 1, 3, and 5 only to help form line wins. Burn it can’t replace either of the other special symbols, which are the Griffin’s temple as the Scatter, and a sun symbol that is key to triggering the Multiplier respins, which you can read about below.

Free Spins

Three or more Scatter symbols in view trigger the Free Spins round. This kicks off with ten spins, but more are added for every two or more Scatters that land on one spin during the feature. During the bonus round, all five reels expand to 12-symbols high, which increases the number of paylines active to a whopping 90. 

Multiplier Respins

All it takes is one of the sun symbols to land to trigger the Multiplier Respins, but up to 5 can appear on the grid on any spin. When the feature triggers, all the reels with a sun symbol on them will expand to 12 positions high. The sun symbol and any of the premium Griffin symbols will stick in place, and each expanded reel will land a number of Wilds with random multipliers of 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x attached. This feature can also trigger during the Free Spins.

Griffin's Throne is a beautifully designed slot. It has stunning graphics and interesting features, which can lead to some big potential wins.
