The round starts with each active betting position and the dealer receiving two cards, the player's are face up, and the dealer has one up, one down. The idea is to get a higher hand than the dealer without going over 21, which is a bust.

To try and do this the player can choose to; 

• Hit: The player asks for another card. 
• Stand: The player takes no more cards
• Double Down: The player doubles their bet in exchange for one more card. This can only be done on a hand of 9, 10, or 11.
• Split: two cards of the same rank may split into two separate hands. In this version of the game, the player can only split their hand once.

Once the player has decided to stand or busted, the dealer plays out their hand. They can Hit as many times as necessary to beat the player’s hand, but must Stand on a hand of 17.

The Buster side bet is what it’s all about in this game! Like other side bets, this is placed before the initial hand is dealt. But unlike most others, which are usually based on combinations made by the first cards dealt, this is not settled until after the dealer’s hand has played out.

Basically, players who make this wager are betting the dealer will go bust, drawing a hand of 21. And the payouts depend on how many cards it takes for the dealer to do this, as in the paytable below:

• Three or Four Card Bust: 2-1
• Five Card Bust: 4-1
• Six Card Bust: 18-1
• Seven Card Bust: 50-1
• Eight or More Card Bust: 250-1
• Seven Card Bust with Player Blackjack: 800-1
• Eight or More Card Bust with Player Blackjack: 2,000-1
