12.07.07 - Screen Test and Harry Potter
Click the picture below to listen to the show again.
It was a bit of a film frenzy this Thursday on Foxy Radio, with both Harry Potter and our brand new Screen Test game taking centre stage. And just to show you how much we loved you, we as ever made sure there were plenty of Tally Hos thrown in for good measure along the way.
The lovely CH Opal joined us, and along with Jim set the very first Screen Test, which involved the pair becoming two characters from a very famous film, and reading lines from a scene. These were as follows:
Opal Oh, my God, they found me, I don't know how, but they found me. Run for it.
Jim: Who? Who?
Opal: Who do you think? The Libyans!
We then asked roomies to let us know what they though the film was. Throughout the show e-mails poured in with some very interesting guesses. Phone Devil though it may be Rotten Tomatos, whilst Noki12 took a chance on Hamburger Hill. However it was film buff Bigmommy who got 35,000 bps with the correct answer, Back to the Future.
Our Put it to the People debate for the week was Harry Potter, which is currently creating something of a frenzy across the UK. Telling us why he loved the worlds most famous wizard was Salford180 who said, Its very good, its not just for kids. Im 45 and I love it. However in the against camp was Roadangels son who said, Id prefer to watch paint dry. I cant sit there and watch it. It was then over to the floor with the vast majority of the community including the formidable CM Suzie and nmartin2uk, who had just seen the movie, saying just how wild about Harry they are.
Keeping with the Harry theme we also heard from Foxy Player, Voldermort, in our revived Unmask the Alias slot. The roomie, whos also know as Wayne, let us know why he choose to name himself after he who must not be named Its a great name, it gets everyone talking, said Foxys very own Dark Lord.
Our Community News story of the week was truly delightful, with Vanda123 and Lydiasmum, and even Lydia herself, joining us to tell us how they met in the chat rooms and have become firm friends, with Vanda taking two of Lydiasmums kittens when they are reading to leave their mum in a few weeks. And if the story wasnt cute enough we also found out that Vanda is calling the kittens after Foxy chat hosts Wilee and Tippy.
Winners of the night included Jobo, who scopped £500 in the coverall draw, which was reported live by Birdmans husband. And as usual a whole host of quick fingered Tally Ho-ers, including dawn30dawn, caz280 and BUBBLES5404 The Foxes Race Tourney didnt run this week as the foxes (like the rest of us) deserved a holiday, According to reports they were last seen heading to Gatwick Airport with some very large suitcases and currently having a great time sunning themselves.
Dont forget to join us on Tuesday when well be hearing from health experts on giving up smoking and asking for your views on the matter. Well also be giving away some CDs in our brand new Sing it Back competiton, and seeing if Roguetaz can beat reigning Town Tourney champion Kate69 from Reading, when she flies the flag for Sheerness in a bid to win 50,000 BPs.
