Huddersfield Giants

Lauren Reilly nominated her mum Helen Reilly

My mum is the best mum in the world! She has brought me and my brother up all on her own and made sure we never go without. She has had a really bad year as she has broken her leg and had to have two operations but she never lets it get her down and is always smiling. She is also rugby mad and is always giving up her time to help with my brothers rugby team, she never misses a giants home game and even went to a match 2 days after her operation. That’s why I think my mum should win RFL mum of the year.

Hull FC

Paula Bowes nominated her mum Sharon Bowes

My mum should be RFL mum of the year for numerous reasons. One of the main ones being that she has stood by my side all the time that I was getting bullied at school just because I supported Hull FC. We always did and still go to every match possible but I have never actually found a suitable way of thanking her for all she does. I saw this competition and then it clicked, I had to repay her with the one thing that got us through all of the bullying. Enjoying another game of rugby together is the perfect way of thanking the one person that stuck by me through thick and thin. My mum is the only reason I am still here today; I don't know what I'd do without her.

Hull KR

Anne Marie Wroe nominated her daughter Sarah Jane Lloyd

Sarah is 28 and has just presented me with my 1st grandchild, a boy named Harland. I am the proudest Granny as most are. I had breast cancer 6 years ago and up until last year was still having ops. In this time my mum, Sarah’s nanny died of leukaemia. Sarah has been my strength to carry on. She took so much on her little shoulders and attended every chemo session with me. I lost all my hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. Thankfully I am still here and without her support I don’t know how I would have got through it all. I would now like her to have something special as a huge thank you and for being a great new mummy as well as an amazing daughter xxx

Leeds Rhinos

Simon Richardson nominated his mum Gillian Coopman

My mum deserves to win this title, not because she has bought me loads of stuff or has spoilt me over the years. Because she has always been there for me, through the good times and bad. She has not just been a great mum but a great friend. My mum is the biggest Rhinos fan I know and I know this would mean the absolute world to her. Thank You

London Broncos

Sarah Mitchell nominated her mum Lyn Mitchell

My mum is amazing! She's always looking after people and always puts them first. I was born with shorter arms & legs which has meant I've needed loads of operations from the day I was born (I'm now 33!!) mum has always been there. Mum has never allowed me to feel sorry for myself. If there was a talk anywhere in the country she'd always go & find out info. My brother was then diagnosed with diabetes & coeliac disease when he was 14. She always has been there making him special food so he doesn't miss out. Nothing is too much trouble. Her dad died just before Christmas at 93 & she'd been looking after him too. Now she looks after nan & our elderly neighbours. Nothing is too much trouble. she always wants to help others. She deserves an award to show how much she's loved and to show her how much we appreciate her. Thanks mum

Salford City Reds

Mike Coverley nominated his partner Lynsey Broderick

I think my partner is a great mum looks after her 2 kids very good. our 2 kids are so polite and caring just like her cause she has brought them up great and respectful. She the best and I love her.

St Helens

David Casey nominated his Fiancée Sarah Critchley

Sarah is a fantastic mum to her son Mark (aged 8) and has battled with being stigmatised as a teenage/single mum ever since she fell pregnant with Mark. They are both avid Saint Helens fans and Sarah has done everything to prove people wrong!

Warrington Wolves

Helen Jones nominated her friend Lynn Walker

I think Lynn should win this award hands down she’s a massive rugby league fan she’s a fantastic mum to four beautiful children. However I think the main reason Lynn should win this award is her outstanding charity work she works tirelessly for the Tom Sephton memorial fund Tom Sephton was pte in the 1 mercion rgt and loved rugby league and every year on armed forces day Lynn helps organise a fund raiser fun day to raise funds for several forces charities. She works all year round to make the day the success it is and in my eyes there’s no other worthy winner

Widnes Vikings

Mike Unsworth nominated his partner Claire Williams

Claire is a very hard working mother, she is currently juggling studying for a job in childcare, working as a trainee childcare assistant and running a successful night which promotes young local bands. She was also instrumental in saving a local venue from closure in the "Elvis for jay save the buffs" campaign. She is also a member of a local theatre company called Split Ends and she is written and performed in many popular shows in the Brindley theatre. Even more remarkable when you consider she has three children whom she looks after full time. She is more than deserving of mum of the year and is a fanatical and passionate supporter of Widnes Vikings RLFC.

Wigan Warriors

Michaela Robinson nominated her mum Brenda Robinson

My mum has brought up four daughters including me to follow Wigan Rugby. She is now helping us to bring up the grand kids in exactly the same way. She has been following Wigan for some 45 years now and although she can't make all the live matches now due to work she is always the second referee sat at home watching the TV when she has to miss them. We have great memories of trotting down to Wembley in all matching red and white and she has watched players come and go and sometimes their sons playing too! I think my mum should be RFL mum of the year because she hasn't let the fact that she hasn't had any sons stop her from passing on enjoyment of the game, she has great passion for rugby league and she is brilliant! Plus she loves mascots and would get on fabulously with Foxy! Vote Team Brenda!

WTG guys and enjoy the games!
